How commercial Title 24 compliance works
Nonresidential buildings comply with California's Energy Code (Title 24, Part 6). Compliance is documented on NRCC (Nonresidential Certificate of Compliance) forms — separate certificates cover the envelope (NRCC-ENV), mechanical/HVAC (NRCC-MCH), indoor lighting (NRCC-LTI), outdoor lighting (NRCC-LTO), and process systems (NRCC-PRC), with commissioning (NRCC-CXR) required for larger projects. You can comply through the prescriptive path (meeting each component requirement) or the performance path (whole-building energy modeling in CEC-approved software). Our reports are the design-stage documentation submitted for permit; separate field steps — installation certificates (NRCI) and acceptance testing (NRCA), the latter performed where required by a certified Acceptance Test Technician — are completed during construction.
